HORROR MONSTER SHOW
What makes contemporary artists create their own original worlds, which are occupied by odd monsters?
Opening night: 8:00 pm on 20 February 2009
Days of exhibition: 20 Feb – 27 March
Artists: Hza Bažant, Marie Hladíková, Karel Jerie, Michal Kohout, Ktaiwan, Adam Novák, Pavel Ptáčník, Telona, Tomáš Roubal, Jan Vytiska, Danny Winkler
On 2 February a German magazine LOW was presented the first time ever in the Czech Republic. The presentation was part of the show Horror Monster Show focusing on lowbrow art and alternative culture
just as Hygiene Station is. The magazine is being offered to visitors
for CZK 180. Three oil-paintings in the pop-surrealism style by Danny Winkler from Dresden, the publisher of the magazine, are on the view. Other 3D pieces of art work by Marhlad or dreamful Diorama by Ktaiwan, which all together create lovely decadent monster scene. The psychotic environment is also supported by tattooed dried skins by Tomáš Roubal
or by a furnace decorated with silk print graphics by Hza Bažant illustrating a theme of a sewer and a coffin being drifted along.
All mentioned is currently being exhibited and offered for sale of course
as well as some masterpieces from previous shows.
Do not hesitate and bring your friends along to see this unique display of alternative art.
